چکیده

We report results of EVN interferometric study of two star-forming regions L1206 and GL2789 in the brightest methanol maser line at 6.7 GHz. Using measured absolute positions both methanol masers were identified with protostars which are sources of bipolar outflows. Both masers consist of several maser spots, with some of them being aligned in a linear structure with velocity gradient probably delineating edge-on circumstellar disks. We estimated the radii of such disks to be 140 AU and 280 AU (or 700 AU for the whole structure treated as a disk) for L1206 and GL2789 respectively. The brightness temperatures of the most intense features in L1206 and GL2789 are at least 1.1 × 10 10 K and 1.4 × 10 9 K respectively.

High resolution observations of 6.7-GHz methanol masers with the LBA

We have used the Australian Long Baseline Array (LBA) to produce milliarcsecond images of five sites of methanol (CH3OH) maser emission at 6.7 GHz. These are all sites that have linear morphologies at arcsecond resolutions, which have been hypothesised to be due to the masers forming in edge-on circumstellar disks. We find that a simple disk model cannot explain the observations. We discuss var...

The nature of the methanol maser ring G23.657−00.127 I. The distance through trigonometric parallax measurements

Context. Methanol masers are associated with young high-mass stars and are an important tool for investigating the process of massive star formation. Aims. The recently discovered methanol maser ring in G23.657−00.127 provides an excellent “laboratory” for a detailed study of the nature and physical origin of methanol maser emission, as well as parallax and proper motion measurements. Methods. ...

High-mass Star Formation in the near and Far 3-kpc Arms

We report on the presence of 6.7-GHz methanol masers, known tracers of high-mass star formation, in the 3-kpc arms of the inner Galaxy. We present 49 detections from the Methanol Multibeam Survey, the largest Galactic plane survey for 6.7-GHz methanol masers, which coincide in longitude, latitude and velocity with the recently discovered far-side 3-kpc arm and the well known near-side 3-kpc arm...

Major structures of the inner Galaxy delineated by 6.7–GHz methanol masers

We explore the longitude-velocity distribution of 6.7–GHz methanol masers in the context of the inner structure of our Galaxy. We analyse the correlation in velocities within this distribution and identify density enhancements indicating large-scale regions of enhanced star formation. These are interpreted as the starting points of the spiral arms and the interaction of the Galactic bar with th...
